NYLON RING NUT – EUM
The self-locking principle of the EUM nut is to crimp a nylon ring on the upper part. During assembly, the ring is deformed by the thread of the screw and creates an impression in the ring.
This imprint compressing the thread of the screw makes it possible to create a constant braking torque (called self-locking).
Standard nylon ring temperature: -40°C to +120°C
The EUM nut also has a free conical washer. It flattens during assembly when the male element is tensioned under the effect of the tightening torque.
In the life cycle of an EUM nut assembly, phenomena may result in a release of the initial tension of the male element. The conical washer will restore the energy stored during compression and maintain some of the tension in the assembly.
EUM nuts are recommended for all common or safe connections where there is a risk of loss of initial tension. These tension losses are generated by settlements, creeps or vibratory phenomena
